2) Princess Diana has had the iconic sapphire and diamonds engagement ring now on Kate Middleton's finger, probably the most famous engagement ring in the world. The ring features a 12 carat faceted oval Ceylon central sapphire surrounded by 14 round diamonds set in white gold.

3) Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge received Prince William's mother engagement ring in November 2010 and showed it to the world in the State Apartments of St James Palace. Over the years, she has proven to be very fond of the ring wearing it with great pride.
